Frank Beard came across Dusty and Rocky while playing for The Cellar Dwellers at the Fort Worth Cellar. Their first musical venture was at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, together with drummer "Little" Richard Harris. Some gigs were played at The Amber Room in Dallas. In 1965 Rocky and Dusty formed The Warlocks with 'Little Richard’ Harris. They played at a party at Jane Garvin's house in Como, Texas, in the July of 1963.
